People of determination, or known as people with special needs

 

After several studies and experiences, a private curriculum was developed by (SPECIAL KIDS), emerging from the Tripoli Robotics Pedagogical Institution, in collaboration with specialists of  doctors and supervisors for different cases from the  special needs with  Down Syndrome, learning disorders (such as Dyslexia – Reading disorder), communication disorders, Emotional and behavioral disorders (such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical disability, Developmental disability and other cases.

 

These smart activities for people of determination such as building robots and programming… In addition to other one such as (fast mental calculation, chess, engineering, arts and programming) have the ability not only to help in education and develop their mental abilities, but also helps to improve their physical and kinetic movements, decrease timidity and disappointment, and strengthen confidence, social skills and self-esteem.

In addition, programs for the deafness and muteness have been allocated using a very simple language, by providing an alternative channel of communication with the robot through private techniques so that they can express themselves and be more social, noticing that these cases have an enormous   assimilated and creative abilities.

Our main task from those programs is to extract and develop their energies, focus on their abilities and creativity, and integrate them in an effective way into society.

Types of disorders that may be included in this program

 

1- Learning disorders: It is a disorder in the basic psychological processes (attention – remembering – thinking and perceiving) necessary to choose or understand language and to learn reading, writing, calculation and others through regular educational methodology, in which they are disturbances in one or more of the basic processes that include understanding and choosing Written or spoken language showing itself in the disorders of listening, thinking, speaking and reading.

2- Motor disability (physical): It is the disability resulting from a dysfunction in the nerves, muscles, bones or joints, which leads to the loss of the mobility abilities as a result of (Spine Injuries – Muscle Atrophy – Muscle Relaxation and it death – Rheumatism – Amputation)

(We can work with these cases starting from the age of six years)

 

3- Hearing disability: It is a hearing loss that significantly affects the individual’s ability to use his/her sense of hearing to communicate with others and learn through normal educational methods, and all groups fall under the concept of hearing disability from a procedural point of view.

  •  The deaf person: The person who suffers from a hearing loss that starts at 70 ds or more after using hearing aids, which prevents him from relying on the sense of hearing to understand sayings.
  • Hearing impaired: A person who suffers from a hearing loss between 30 and 69 ds after using hearing aids, which makes him/ her has difficulty in understanding sayings based on the sense of hearing only.

These are the most aware analytical mental cases and that they can work at an advanced level than others.

4- Autism: is one of the disorders belonging to a group of developmental disorders called (Autism Spectrum Disorders – ASD).

The main difficulties faced by Autism patients:

Children with autism are certainly have difficulties in three basic developmental domains: social relationships, language and behavior.

Some children are slow to learn new information and skills, and others have a normal or even higher IQ than normal people. These children learn quickly but have communication problems in applying the things they have learned in their daily lives and in adapting to different situations.

A very small proportion of children with autism are self-educated and have unique exceptional skills, particularly in a particular field, such as: technology, mathematics or music. (Can work with these cases starting from the age of eight)

 

5- People with Down syndrome: people who are suffering from Down syndrome have different degrees of intellectual disability, and these cases need to be work on them at a special level and simple steps to be developed gradually. (We can work with these cases starting from the age of ten years)

Social rehabilitation for people with disabilities

 

Preparing individuals with disabilities to adapt and interact positively with society and the requirements of public life, through a group of programs and social activities, and find opportunities for social and psychological integration.

The role of this program is very important in community rehabilitation, which infuses in all sectors (Health, Education, Social…)
